CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY Senior Environmental Consultant and Project Lead - Assignment: Environmental Management and Climate Resilience Pilot in Humanitarian Mine Action - Location: Aden, with relevant field activities in Abyan and Lahj - Contract: Short-term consultancy - Expected start: 8 November 2026 - Expected completion: 20 December 2026 - Application deadline: 29 October 2026 Norwegian People s Aid (NPA) Yemen invites qualified environmental professionals to apply for a short-term consultancy supporting its Norad-funded environmental pilot. The assignment will strengthen practical environmental management and climate resilience in NPA office and humanitarian mine action operations. Key Responsibilities - Lead project planning, implementation, monitoring, budget tracking and weekly reporting. - Review NPA Green Office and Green Field tools and conduct office and field environmental assessments. - Identify and oversee approved practical measures for water, waste, solar efficiency and field environmental risk mitigation. - Coordinate consultations, provide staff coaching and facilitate a stakeholder workshop on an environmental NMAS roadmap. - Submit assessments, an action plan, implementation evidence, workshop documentation and a final learning report. Required Qualifications and Experience - Relevant environmental qualifications or equivalent professional experience, with senior environmental expertise in Yemen. - Demonstrated project management capacity under tight deadlines. - Practical knowledge of water, waste, resource efficiency and climate resilience. - Strong stakeholder facilitation, analytical and reporting skills. - Fluent Arabic and working English. Desirable: Experience with humanitarian mine action, INGOs, national authorities, donor-funded programmes or relevant environmental standards.
