Overall Objective The Plumber will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply, sanitation, and drainage systems within health facilities. The role ensures that all plumbing systems function effectively and safely, supporting uninterrupted health service delivery and maintaining hygienic standards. Scope of Work and Core Responsibilities Technical Tasks - Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, sanitary fixtures, and drainage systems in health facilities. - Perform routine inspections to identify leaks, blockages, or malfunctions in plumbing systems. - Ensure proper installation and maintenance of wash basins, toilets, showers, and water storage tanks. - Carry out maintenance and repair of pumps, piping networks, and associated plumbing equipment. - Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies, breakdowns, and service requests. - Ensure all plumbing works comply with safety standards, local building codes, and organizational policies. - Maintain accurate records of work performed, spare parts used, and service reports. - Support procurement by specifying correct materials, spare parts, and tools required for plumbing works. - Train facility staff on basic plumbing maintenance and safe water usage. - Collaborate with other technicians (electrical, maintenance, WASH) to ensure integrated facility upkeep. Working Conditions - Frequent visits to assigned health facilities based on the needs. - Field-based role requiring flexibility and availability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours if needed. Reporting Lines: - The Plumber will report directly to the Health and Nutrition Program Manager Candidate Profile Required and Desirable Qualifications Category required desirable professional experience - Minimum of 3 years experience in plumbing works, preferably in health facilities, NGOs, or service organizations. - Proven experience in installation and maintenance of water supply, sanitation, and drainage systems. - Familiarity with pumps, water storage systems, and water-saving devices. - Knowledge of safety procedures and plumbing codes/standards. - Ability to diagnose and resolve plumbing problems independently. - Relevant professional training conducted. - Previous experience with INGOs or UN agencies. Education Degree (Diplomas and/or certificates) - No academic background is required. - High school. languages - Arabic oral. - English oral. Required Personal Competencies: - Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in plumbing systems. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications. - Good communication and reporting skills. - High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail. - Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent repair needs. - Team player with proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
