Overall Objective The Electrical & Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and timely installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in health facilities. This includes solar-powered electrical systems, air conditioning units, and general facility electrical works, contributing to uninterrupted operations and service delivery. Scope of Work and Core Responsibilities Technical Tasks - Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical systems within health facilities. - Install, troubleshoot, and repair solar-powered electrical systems, including panels, batteries, inverters, and controllers. - Conduct regular inspection and maintenance of air conditioners (split units, central ACs, etc.) to ensure efficient functionality. - Respond promptly to breakdowns, electrical faults, and maintenance requests. - Ensure proper wiring, safety standards, and compliance with national regulations and organizational policies. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts used, and service reports. - Provide technical input and recommendations on upgrades, energy efficiency, and sustainable solutions. - Support procurement team by identifying technical specifications of spare parts and equipment. - Train facility staff on safe usage and basic troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment. - Ensure adherence to health and safety standards during all maintenance and repair activities. Working Conditions - Frequent visits to assigned health facilities based on the needs. - Field-based role requiring flexibility and availability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours if needed. Reporting Lines: - The Electrical/Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Health and Nutrition Program Manager Candidate Profile Required and Desirable Qualifications Category required desirable professional experience - Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical works - Proven experience in solar system installation and maintenance. - Solid knowledge of air conditioning systems (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting). - Familiarity with safety procedures, electrical codes, and standards. - Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently. - Relevant professional training conducted. - Previous experience with INGOs or UN agencies. Education Degree (Diplomas and/or certificates) - No academic background is required. - High school. languages - Arabic oral. - English oral. Required Personal Competencies: - Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications. - Good communication skills. - High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail. - Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent maintenance needs. - Team player with proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
